Portugal's captain Luis Figo announced his retirement from international soccer following the country's 3-1 defeat by Germany in the third place match of the 2006 World Cup. "The only negative thing about this World Cup is that we're losing two great players, Luis Figo and Pauleta, who both made me feel at home in the team. I have learned a lot from both of them," Cristiano Ronaldo told FIFA's official World Cup website following that Saturday's match.
 
I tried to play with a figure lying on the floor from a national health campaign about strokes to create my own tribute to Figo and his generation of wonderful Portuguese players. Somehow, my whole composition says something about goodbye.
