We are delighted to say that the competition was once again supported by a generous sponsorship from the AstraZeneca Arts in the Community programme. Our thanks must go to them and the hard work of staff and volunteers at Charnwood Arts who worked to achieve such an extensive international promotion of the competition.
The judging process took place in three rounds. A first round elimination took place in July 2008 and an on-line selection was then passed to our five judges who made a selection of the top ten in each category. Each photographer in this round was then invited to submit their images in high resolution formats for a final print selection process. The judge’s work was exacting and the discussion around each image extremely animated - the quality of the printed work often produced surprises when seen as larger images. You may or may not agree with their final choices but rest assured their decisions were made after a lengthy and detailed debate! Our thanks to them for all their hard work and participating as members of our local community in sharing and developing their own visual language knowledge and photographic skills. All entries were judged anonymously.
The print exhibition is held at Loughborough Town Hall, as part of our Pixel and Grain exhibition series in the downstairs and upstairs gallery spaces from 14th November 2008 until 16th January 2009 - so why not come along and see the work in all its glory.
If you fancy having a go yourself ClickIt! 2009 will be announced just before Christmas 2008.
