"Theatre of the Imaginary"

Gentleness, sensuality and surrealism could define Tatiana Antonuk's portraits and self-portraits. A citizen of Krasnoyarsk (Russia, Siberia) and an English teacher, she started photography taking her inspiration from René Magritte and Jan Saudek, but her current works are accomplished with the pictoral effects of photography from another century. These effects denote the marking out of her own artistic route within the hectic landscape of Russian contemporary photography. This itself is the heir of a long creative tradition but now shaking up by the discovery of the meanderings of contemporary commercial photography.

Tatiana Antonuk - An experimental photographer

Born the 11th of November, 1983.

2001-04 - studied at Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical College n°1, got a diploma of profession "a secondary school teacher of English".

In 2004 entered Krasnoyarsk State pedagogical University, graduated in the year 2007 with a higher education diploma.

Education in Photography:

May-June, 2008: in-depth training as an assistant of a professional photographer Pierre William Henry, Neuchatel, Switzerland.

October 2006 - March 2007: Research Institute of experimental photography in Krasnoyarsk, a course of photographic studies, a certificate.

September 26 - November 14, 2008: " Theatre of the Imaginary", solo-exhibition in Loughborough Town Hall, UK.

May 31 - July 7, 2008: " Theatre de l'Imaginaire ", solo-exhibition in La Golee, Auvernier, Switzerland.

March-May, 2008: a group-exhibition "Nudes in Painting, Sculpture and Photography", held by the Russian Union of Artists in the House of Artists, Krasnoyarsk, Divnogorsk, Achinsk, Russia.

May-August, 2007: "Up to Sin" (a group-exhibition of the nude art), held by the Russian Union of Artists, Zelenogorsk, Russia.

May-July, 2007: a group exhibition "The Modern Photography. The Young Siberian Authors", the curator - a professional photographer Vladimir Dmitrienko, the Cultural and Historic museum, Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
