I was born in north-east Poland in Bialystok city which is a capital city of
Podlaskie county. I am 31 years old. The last few years I have been living with
my wife and working in Wales, Cardiff. My pictures represent different types
of protest:
They are about personal protest, my personal protest against the dreary “grey
life” - against routine, against well known trails. They are protests
too against “old school photography”. Protests against the life
which is: home-work-work-home, protests against fading away.
I’d like to draw attention to the camera. The camera is not just a tool
to take photos. Cameras can do miracles, cameras can even bring a death poster
back to life, the camera can make us happy, the camera can hold onto beautiful
moments forever, can change the ugly to pretty and many more wonderful things.
This is what I am trying to demonstrate by my images, protest against copying
thousands of the same photos. We have to understand that in photography we have
to give something from ourselves. Protest against normality, the ordinary, regular
and common. I am trying to demonstrate the otherness, the contrast between reality
and dream, liveliness and something new and different.
Did I manage to achieve my plan? I don’t know? I hope that I did it for
just 1%. If so I’m very happy, but I have no right to judge myself. Take
a look at my work and have a good time!
