Mr Ramniklal Singala came to Great Britain in 1972 after being expelled from Uganda by General Idi Amin, together with the rest of the industrious and prosperous Asian community. From 1972 until 1976, he was working on the night shift as a coil winder at Hawker Sidderley, whilst repairing watches and clocks in his spare time, a hobby of his from the age of 15. 1976 saw him opening a grocery business in Church Gate, before finally opening 'Time Fever Jewellers' in 1985 where he still is today.
