Gauriben is a widow, living in a single room with her three children. Four years ago, her husband fell ill and passed away. She started working as a rag picker to support her children. Together, they leave the house early in the morning to pick rags. If they have money they take the bus, and if not, they walk five kilometers to the place where they collect paper and plastic. After working all day, they will usually walk home with anything up to 25kg of waste on their heads. The can beside her reads "give me your rubbish".
