Exhibition:
Clickit! Competition 2007
This is a special exhibition for Loughborough Town Hall as we
celebrate the results of the first international ClickIt! Photographic Competition.
The Internet has provided photographers, like so many other artists, the opportunity
to meet and share work around the world, to discuss their art and obsessions,
share tips, review equipment and their likes and dislikes. Never has so much
been written about photography or so many photographs shared between so many
people. Who knows where all of this will end!
It has been a great pleasure for us at Charnwood Arts, with the generous help
of AstraZeneca R&D Charnwood and Arts and Business to be able to offer
a small opportunity to enable a few images to stand out from the many billions
produced worldwide every year. I’m sure the visitors to this exhibition
will debate the merits or demerits of the judge’s choices but be kind
to them – they worked hard to make difficult decisions about work that
they liked in the final judging round of 78 photographs.
Entries were received from many countries and we were delighted with the quality
of work – as you will see winning entries came from as far away as India,
Korea and Turkey as well as places closer to home like Wymsewold! We do hope
you enjoy the exhibition and that it may inspire those amongst you who take
your photography a step or two further to think about entering next year!
